Monarch butterflies denied protection for many years. That's not good news.

Monarch butterflies, North America's most recognizable, iconic insect has been denied protection by the US Fish and Wildlife Service (for the next several years) at a time when both eastern and western populations are at all time lows, and intervention is needed most. This is bad news for monarchs and other pollinators that would have benefitted from federal protection sooner than later. Read the full Xerces Society article here...
